For the Forgotten Ones

From the Desk of Father David

Dear Parishioners and Friends in Christ,

The month of November is dedicated to praying for the dead. We believe that our prayers assist them getting home to heaven. The word Purgatory means a place of purification. When a person dies, that person needs to be purified to enter into heaven. For example, a person who has a bad habit of frequently lying, needs to be purified or he will keep on hurting people with his lies in heaven. We can help with the purification by our prayers and sacrifices. When you are experiencing some difficulty offer it to God to help the poor souls in purgatory. At the doors of the Church are pamphlets with prayers for the souls in purgatory. Also the bulletin will contain prayers throughout the month of
November.

Prayer for the Forgotten Ones
Receive our prayers, dear Lord, for those who have none to
pray for them. They departed this life without loved ones to
mourn their going. We employ You to stretch forth Your
paternal arms to those forgotten ones, and bring them into
your celestial abode of happiness, light, and peace. Amen.

This saying was on a poster, “God gives us memories so we can have Roses in December.” May your memories not bring you to sadness but bring a smile to your face.

Peace and healings,

Fr. David Bellittiere
