Deepen your relationship with Jesus

From the Desk of Father David

Dear Parishioners and Friends,

I am asking you to deepen your relationship with Jesus this Fall.  The Saints witness to us that the stronger our relationship is with Christ, the greater our ability to deal with the challenges of life.  No matter how great the demands that were placed on Jesus, He always found time to strengthen His bond with God the Father through prayer and relaxation.   In the Scriptures, God is seen as a mighty fortress and a rock foundation holding up and protecting people.

Some ways of strengthening your relationship is to take time to: enjoy looking at the Autumn leaves, going out for cider and donuts, come to the retreat this Saturday, October 15th, read the Scriptures or join the Tuesday Scripture Study.

Starting this fall: there will be two book clubs, one on forgiveness and another one on seeing God in everyday life, consider joining one or starting one of your own.  Also, we are starting small faith sharing groups with the goal to grow closer to Jesus.  Or maybe spend a little time each day thanking God for the things you saw, ate, and the people you encountered.  Be creative and come up with your own ideas.

Almighty God, You are the giver of all good gifts and have helped us accomplish all we have done, we come before you with a grateful heart.  Please enable us to live through You, with You and in You at all times. Amen

In Christ’s peace,

Fr. David
