Welcome to Parishioners and Visitors,

             Faith challenges us to trust God and work with Him.  I don’t remember who said this quote, “Pray as everything depends on God and work as if everything depends on you.”  God brings about wonderful blessings by guiding and blessing our efforts.  When we read the Gospels, we see people supporting and working with Jesus, we need to do the same. 

The Columban Retreat Center is a wonderful example of lay people taking the initiative .  Business men desiring to have Days of Recollection and retreats, approached the Columban Fathers for assistance.  They agreed to do the retreats, but now the question was where.  Then the gentlemen purchased property in Derby.  The Center would grow by developing new program, welcoming many groups,  and the Diocese would take over the running of it.  After many years of serving the people of our area, it closed.    In this bulletin you will see a list of activities for upcoming year, which ones are you willing to be involved in or maybe lead.  What other ideas do you have?  I would love to hear your ideas, so please share them by calling the rectory , 716-674-2374 or emailing us at rectory@14hh.org.

Lord Jesus today in the Gospel we heard you say, “Do not be afraid any longer, little flock, for your Father is pleased to give you the kingdom.  We so easily slip into anger and fear.  Please show us the way to live in Your light and find peace and wisdom. Amen.
