John Willett, Seminarian


John Willett picWelcome John Willett. John is a native of Williamsville, New York and grew up attending St. Pius X Church in Getzville; his current home parish is St. Mary’s in Swormville. John graduated from the University of Buffalo with a degree in Business Administration. He then pursued his CPA at American University. During his time in Virginia John was involved in Youth Ministry and other service roles in his parish. It was during this time that John felt that he had a calling to be a priest. Through prayer and frequent reception of the Sacraments, John received the grace to answer God’s call to become a priest.

In 2018 John entered Christ the King Seminary; he spent two years studying Philosophy in the Pre-Theology program. When Christ the King closed John moved to St. Mary’s Seminary in Baltimore, Maryland, the oldest Seminary in the United States. John has spent the last two years pursuing his studies in the Theology program. He has been assigned to spend his pastoral year with us at Fourteen Holy Helpers. John has two more years of studies remaining in the Theology program. He will be ordained a Transitional Deacon in the Spring of 2024 and a priest in the Spring of 2025.

John will be offering reflections on the Mass readings during Thursday morning Masss. He also hopes to teach Bible studies and work on outreach to the disabled community among other evangelizing and ministerial projects.
