Enhancing Our Personal Relationship with Jesus Together
From the Desk of Father David
Dear Parishioners and Friends,
Your personal relationship with Jesus is the foundation of your life. Therefore this Lent and Easter our parish theme is “Enhancing Our Personal Relationship with Jesus Together.” Our Lenten and Easter banner focuses on the Good Shepherd. The three sayings are: Jesus is calling your name, listen to Him, and let Him hold you close to His heart. The banner and the parish theme calls us to realize that Jesus wants a personal relationship with us and He cares for us. Are we willing to work with Jesus to remove all stumbling blocks and strengthen the bridges between you, Him and others? These stumbling blocks rob us of happiness and from experiencing Christ’s peace. With Jesus’ guidance, name the stumbling blocks and what good habits will replace them. Now decide on what you need to do and who can help and support you. Come up with a concrete game plan and put it into action. Be patient with yourself and others, and be amazed at what the Holy Spirit is doing with your efforts.
Lent begins this Wednesday with Masses at 7:00am, 12:00pm, and 7:00pm. Ashes will be distributed during Mass. Confessions will be from 5:00 to 6:30 pm every Wednesday of Lent. The Old English name for Tuesday was Shrove Tuesday, a day to rid oneself of sin and have the graces to grow closer to Christ.
May God give success to our efforts to grow closer to His Son and each other.
Peace and healing,
Fr. David
