Happy Father’s Day
From the Desk of Father David
Dear Parishioners and Friends,
Happy and Blessed Fathers’ Day to all Fathers!
Today we remember in a special way our fathers and all the men who have fathered us. The happy and sad moments, the lessons they taught us by their words and examples, and their words of wisdom which shaped us. We should always be grateful for them. Today is also a good day to reflect upon God the Father. Because of His great love for each of us, He gave up His most prized treasure, His Son , Jesus, to win our love and to give us eternal life. The website www.fathersloveletter.com has a great video which explains this and I strongly encourage you to watch it.
In today’s Gospel, Mark 4:35-41, Jesus is exhausted from teaching and from working the miracle of feeding the large crowd. As Jesus sleeps in the boat the disciples become filled with fear as the storm rages and the boat takes on water. They awaken Jesus and He calms the storm. Are storms raging in your life? Do you trust Jesus to protect you because He is stronger than the storms? Are you seeking His help? With God’s help may we not turn to fear or worry, but seek Jesus with all that we are at every moment of our lives.
Almighty God our Father we ask you to bless all fathers and help them to mirror You to the world. For our fathers who are deceased please bring them safely home to heaven.
In Christ’s love,
Fr. David
