In a storm – turn to St. Joseph
From the Desk of Father David
Dear Parishioners and Friends,
In today’s Gospel, we hear about the disciples trapped in a storm and their reactions. How would you respond if you were in their situation? How are you responding to the storms in your life? Keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus and not on the storm is the first and most important step. Second, immersing oneself in prayer by using many different ways of praying. Pray with the Scripture especially the Sunday readings which can be found at USCCB.org. Praying with these passages can help deepen your experience of the Sunday liturgies. When you pray, share with God your thoughts, emotions, and all that is on your heart. Remember to take time to reflect and listen to God. Thirdly, surround yourself with people who are positive, good listeners and who will pray for you and with you.
At this time in our lives I am asking you to turn to St. Joseph for assistance. Our parish has a website devoted to St. Joseph. The address is StJosephOurGuide.org.
If you haven’t given to the Retirement Fund for Buffalo Diocesan Priests, I strongly encourage you to do so, you can give on-line now. This collection differs from the one in December because it helps the priests of our Diocese.
May God bless us!
Peace,
Fr. David
