Campus re-opening … slowly
Dear Friends in Christ,
Last week’s Gospel reminded us to put God first so that we will have everything we need. When we don’t do that, our lives become harried and we grow tired trying to do everything without His strength. When life becomes crazy, today’s Gospel beautifully reminds us that Christ is there with His arms open to comfort and strengthen us.
We have been having Mass in the Hall and the Church. The Church is more beautiful, but the Hall is more spacious. I am very grateful to the many volunteers and staff personnel who are working diligently to keep everyone safe and the Church and Hall clean. To those who are uncomfortable about coming back, I can sympathize with you and know it is not a sin to stay home. Before and after mass, I wear a mask. During the Mass, except at communion time, I do not wear a mask because it is hard for me to project my voice and I do keep six feet away from others. I am thankful for the ministers and faithful who are wearing a mask.
It is my hope that by mid-July, we will be able to start reopening the campus and allow meetings again. This will be a slow process, but my hope is that by the Fall we will be completely open. The rectory is still closed and the staff works from home. We are doing the best we can to meet your needs. Please keep all of us in your prayers.
May Almighty God bless us and guide us.
In Christ,
Fr. David
