What is Jesus calling me to do?

From the Desk of Father David

Dear Parish Family and Friends,

We read from the prophet Isaiah “For thus said the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel: by waiting and by calm you shall be saved, in quiet and in trust shall be your strength.”  These words from God apply to us.  When we quiet ourselves and open our hearts we can then learn not to react but how to respond with our words and actions.  When we are quiet, we enter deeply into a conversation with Jesus and receive blessings from His hands.  In this stillness, we need to ask the question, “What is Jesus calling me to do that will strengthen the Church and the larger community?”  This is a hard question because we might need to do things differently for the well being of others.   We are all responsible, young and old, to make a difference in addressing the problems that we are facing.  So focus on your gifts and talents and ask the Lord Jesus to help you use them for making the world a better place.  With God’s blessings and everybody doing what they can we will make it safely through these storms.

Come Holy Spirit and help us.

In peace and healing,

Fr. David
