A New Day is Dawning
From the Desk of Father David
Dear Friends in Christ,
A new day is dawning for the Diocese of Buffalo. Today brings me great hope and joy as people consecrate themselves to Jesus through Mary. This consecration is a call to follow Jesus more closely by surrendering our lives into His loving hands with the assistance of the Blessed Virgin Mary. A friend shared that he is already receiving blessings as he does the readings to 33 Days to Morning Glory; this is also true for myself. The more we bind ourselves to Christ the greater the transformation of our Diocese and community into the Kingdom of God.
Why through the Blessed Virgin Mary? Mary has a special relationship with the Holy Spirit because of the Incarnation. Christ gave her to us to be our mother. Jesus desires that everyone should be saved and so does Mary. Mary will always lead us to Jesus, because she loves Him and us. Mary wants us to have the same relationship she has with her Son. Therefore it makes sense that Mary is the one to help us be set on fire with God’s Spirit. The ultimate purpose of the consecration is to be one with God. Many blessings have flowed through the centuries because St. Joseph and the Blessed Virgin Mary were dedicated totally to God and to doing His will. May we follow their example and become a blessing for others.
Loving Father as this new day dawns with the radiance of your love we ask you for the grace to grow closer to Your Son, Jesus, with the help of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Joseph.
Your brother in Christ,
Fr. David
