33 Days to Morning Glory

Dear Friends in Christ,

              It is my hope that you are doing the self guided retreat “33 Days to Morning Glory”.  Remember, on Tuesday nights at 6 p.m. we are showing the videos that go with the retreat. Questions I have been asked concerning this retreat are: what if you fall behind on the readings?  If it is a day or two, then just double up on the readings.  If it is longer then pick up where you stopped and keep on reading from that point.  In either case you can still do the consecration on February 2nd or when you finished the readings.  Can I still pray or offer my suffering for a particular person?  The answer is yes, but in this retreat, we are being asked to let the Blessed Virgin Mary make the final decision on who needs the help.  The idea is that Mary always does the will of God, so her decision is really God’s decision.  If you have questions or concerns please let me know. 

I would like to end with a Scripture quote from the prophet Habakkuk.  “Lord, I have heard your renown, and feared, O Lord, your work. In the course of the years revive it, in the course of the years make it known…For though the fig tree blossom not nor fruit be on the vines, Though the yield of the olive fail and the terraces produce no nourishment, Though the flocks disappear from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, Yet will I rejoice in the Lord and exult in my saving God.  God, my Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet swift as those of hinds and enables me to go upon the heights.” (Habakuk 3:2,17-19)  During these difficult times  may we follow the example of the Prophet Habakkuk by remembering the wonderful actions of God in our lives and trusting that He will again act on our behalf and that of the Church and world.
