Our hope for a better tomorrow
From the Desk of Father David
Dear Friends in Christ,
I am happy to announce that we hired Joy Katilus to fill the position left vacant when Kim Boyer left us for a full time position at Erie Community College. Joy has filled in when Suzanne went on vacation and is familiar with the office and I believe she will be a great addition to our staff.
A few thoughts on what is happening in the Church and world. It saddens me to see that the world has become less forgiving, more angry and moved away from God. As we watch the waves of violence, mistrust, sickness and confusion surround us we can begin to give into a feeling of hopelessness and despair because our focus has moved away from Christ. When we open up our hearts in prayer, we are reconnecting with the living God. When we take time to quiet down and reflect on the Word of God and life, we are better able to follow Jesus’ lead. Our hope for a better tomorrow is based in Jesus, who is faithful and just. He is the Good Shepherd leading us to a bright tomorrow. He promised to be with us always and evil will not win. On our part we need to follow His direction and help others to focus on Jesus by the way we speak and act. We are called to embody the Gospel message of love and forgiveness. Because this is very difficult, we need each other. How will you make the world a better place this week? How are you going to bring peace to someone this week?
May the Good Shepherd assist us at every moments of our live, and may we bring His love and healing to those we meet. Your brother in Christ,
Fr. David
