Jesus feeds us
From the Desk of Father David
Dear Friends in Christ,
We celebrate the Feast of the Body and Blood of Christ today. This great feast reminds us of Jesus’ outstanding love for each of us. Jesus feeds us with His own body, blood, soul and divinity. There are volumes of material written on this mystery and yet the topic has not been exhausted. The closest action we have on earth is when a mother breast feeds her child. She gives of herself so the child could have life. Jesus gives totally of Himself so we could have the fullness of life now and forever. Do we appreciate this great gift? Does the way you dress and the way you receive communion tell those around you that you believe in Jesus’ real presence in the Eucharist? Our actions and words affect the way others pray at Mass. When you are talking before Mass or coming late or leaving early that can disturb others.
May the Lord Jesus deepen our belief of His real presence in the Eucharist. May our words and actions help others to experience Jesus’ presence in our world.
Christ’s peace,
Fr. David
