Importance of fathers
From the Desk of Father David
Dear Friends in Christ,
Wishing all Fathers, Godfathers, Coaches a happy and blessed Fathers’ Day!
As we celebrate Trinity Sunday, we reflect on how the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit all have a special role in the salvation history. They are still active in Their different roles. The Trinity offers us a blueprint for creating healthy families and communities. In the Trinity we see a deep respect for each other and their love and respect flows out over the whole world. The family is the basic unit of all communities. You strengthen the family you strengthen the Church and the nation. A father and mother have important roles in creating a healthy family. Their roles are different and they affect the dynamic of the family differently. With today being Father’s Day, I will be focusing on the dads.
The child takes from the father the image of God. I have met many individuals who have trouble praying to God the Father or Jesus because they have been deeply hurt by a male. When I worked with abused children it was next to impossible to help the children see God any different from their earthly fathers.

May God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit help us to build all of our relationships on the example of love the Holy Trinity shows us.
In God’s love,
Fr. David
