Sisters moving to Motherhouse … 22-July-2018
From the Desk of Father David
Dear Friends in Christ,
It saddens me to inform you that Sisters of St. Francis will no longer be using our convent at the end of September. Sister Pat and Sister Mary Jane will be moving to the Motherhouse in Williamsville. This Order has been part of our parish for most of its existence. They taught in our school for 90 years, then the Sisters of Mercy came for 10 years, then the Sisters of St. Francis returned and have been assisting our parish in many different ministries till the present day. I ask you to keep them and their Order in your prayers during this time of transition.
Plans are underway to make sure that the Adoration Chapel remains open. Since all Eucharistic Ministers can expose and repose the Blessed Sacrament, we will be asking them to help out with the opening and closing of the Chapel. The plans also include remodeling the Chapel. We are thankful to the many adorers who have committed to one hour a week so all of us could stop in for a few minutes. If you could commit for an hour a week, even if it is only for a few months, it would be greatly appreciated. Just call Nancy Frame at 608-6178.
Any ideas on improvements for the Adoration Chapel or on future uses for the convent can be submitted to the rectory.
Also remember SummerFest is less than two weeks away. We need volunteers, donations and raffle tickets sold. Bring a friend and have fun! May we assist the missions with our prayers and donations.
May God bless you abundantly for your generosity and may your faith grow deeper with each passing day.
In Christ’s love,
Fr. David
