Jesus says “No” … 4-Feb-2018
From the Desk of Father David
Dear Friends in Christ,
In the Gospel this weekend we hear Jesus say “no”. The Apostles tell Jesus everyone is looking for Him. In other words, people want Jesus to keep on preaching and healing those who are ill or possessed. Jesus chooses the greater good which is to move on to the next town to preach and heal. Discernment is the process to help us choose the greater good. We cannot do everything which is good. What in your life are you called to say no to so you can choose the greater good?
In the second reading Paul finds great freedom in Jesus. In what areas of your life has your faith given you freedom? If there are areas not yet free, ask the Lord Jesus to grant you freedom in those areas. I saw this on a bookmark – God sends no stress that Chocolate and Prayer can’t handle. – Whatever you ask for in prayer with faith, you will receive. (Matthew 21:22)
May the Lord of Life, enfold your life in His loving hands.
In peace and joy,
Fr. David
